The evening will begin with a screening of the 2016 film Respect de la Vie - Regards croisés by Alexandra Breukink and Pierre Drouot. The film consists of around twenty portraits of residents of the Munster Valley. Based on a text by Albert Schweitzer and in a location of their choice, they discuss how Schweitzer's thinking informs their beliefs and inspires their way of life.
The screening will be followed by a joint lecture on the surprising relevance of Albert Schweitzer's thinking and his philosophy of Respect for Life.
With Alexandra Breukink, pastor and ABC-Climont project manager, and Chris Doude van Troostwijk, philosopher and author of several articles and a book on Albert Schweitzer's thinking.
