Chimère

A successful concert program is a program that does justice to the quality of the music, that inspires musicians to the highest degree, that immerses the audience in a particular state, and which finally allows listeners and artists to communicate through art and emotion, like an echo.

According to the dictionary, a chimera is a beautiful animal... that does not exist. A strange being or object composed of disparate parts. A seductive, but unfeasible project. Wanting to find complementarities between the medieval repertoire of the Céladon ensemble and the contemporary universe of Odyssée ensemble & cie could indeed have quickly been classified as false good ideas. But there you go, from the first rehearsals the obvious was imposed: it works!

The poetry that emanates from this encounter proves even more powerful as it is fragile and unexpected. The rallying point of these two universes is located in the breath that animates this motley instrumentarium made up of medieval flutes, alphorn, bass trombone, organetto, singing... Only the percussions of Claudio Bettinelli (salad bowls, plastic toys...) come to tease the general unison: just enough impertinence to avoid that the unexpected becomes routine.
