Présentation

The Châtenois bypass project, which began in 2019, is nearing completion. To celebrate, and before the official inauguration, explore the new road via :

  • A 1 km pedestrian circuit
  • A 4 km bike/roller/scooter circuit (outward/return)

Various stands will be available along the route:

  • A stand dedicated to the Châtenois project and the environment, with a presentation of the bypass by the Collectivité européenne d'Alsace and a presentation by Archéologie Alsace
  • A stand dedicated to the Collectivité Européenne d'Alsace, with a presentation of the restructuring of the Châtenois secondary school, the future Châtenois car-sharing area, the Maison de l'Habitat in Sélestat and cycle routes in the area
  • A stand dedicated to road safety and roads, with: an exhibition of emergency equipment by the road operators of the Collectivité européenne d'Alsace, the presence of the national gendarmerie, a vehicle extrication simulation by the SIS 67, the presence of the Eugène driving school with a rollover car
  • A stand dedicated to public works, with a presentation of road-related professions by the Collectivité européenne d'Alsace, public works professions, and an exhibition of worksite machinery.

But also :

  • 11.30am: musical entertainment by the Gilets Rouges from Kintzheim
  • From midday: refreshments and snacks provided by the Châtenois Municipal Sports Office
  • Throughout the day: Rosalies for hire and bikes for marking

Bike and run on the track

  • Meeting point from 2.30 p.m. for race numbers, start at 3.30 p.m., free registration compulsory (limit 150 duo race numbers).
  • Come and run and cycle as a duo on the Châtenois bypass! Organised by Time-2-Run, a sports association based in Châtenois and supported by the Collectivité européenne d'Alsace, the Bike and Run event is open to people aged 12 and over.

The race will be run :

  • In teams of 2 (women, men or mixed)
    over 2 possible distances (5 or 10 km) along the Châtenois bypass.
  • The 2 teams will have to be able to take turns between running and cycling (the same bike without automatic pedals). The number of turns may be imposed by the organisers.

There are two ways to get to the site:

  • By car: motorway exit 17 towards Châtenois
  • Pedestrian access: on the Route des Vins on the outskirts of Châtenois, towards Scherwiller

On-site car park, site accessible to people with reduced mobility.
