Communal designation Scherwiller

In the heart of Alsace, the Scherwiller vineyard has more than a thousand years of history. The first written records date back to the 9th century, when Empress Richarde already mentioned these lands where vines shape the landscape and the people. Here, Riesling finds an ideal home: an alluvial terroir shaped by the Giessen and Aubach rivers, where loamy and sandy soils mixed with a multitude of pebbles store heat and allow the grapes to ripen early.

The Alsace Scherwiller appellation, officially recognised since 2011, celebrates this unique identity. Only Riesling can be grown here: a noble grape variety which, on these sun-drenched soils, reveals all its purity, freshness and mineral elegance. A living tradition, passed down from generation to generation, where every sip tells the story of the encounter between a soil, a history... and a deeply rooted expertise.
