Discover the oldest Alsatian castle ever discovered!

What did this building look like? Was it Roman, Celtic or medieval? What does Pope Leo IX have to do with it? For the first time, the Purpurkopf site is opening its doors as part of the Heritage Days.

After 2 years of archaeological excavations, the remains of an imposing 9th - 10th century castle are revealed to you during unique guided tours.

Please note: access to the site requires a 20-minute walk from the car park at SAEGMUEHL. Signposted route.
