European Heritage Days - A guided tour of Klingenthal

Klingenthal is one of the youngest villages in the region; it was built around the Royal Blade Manufactory, created in 1730 at the request of Louis XV. The aim was to establish a white weapons factory in the Kingdom of France, so as not to be dependent on foreign countries for the supply of weapons. At the time, it was necessary to construct the various buildings and to set up the hydraulic network.
