Heritage Days at the Carreau Rodolphe

For the European Heritage Days, plunge into the heart of Alsace's mining history with the Groupe Rodolphe association. Discover an emblematic potash mining site and let yourself be guided by passionate former miners, ready to share with you the secrets of their trade. During a 2h30 immersive tour, follow in the footsteps of the miners as they explore the reconstructed extraction sites, and relive their daily lives as our guides explain. You'll also explore the impressive Rodolphe 1 and 2 headframes, as well as the two mining machines from 1912 and 1928, restored and still in working order. Continue your tour by discovering the surface installations and a collection of mining machinery, unique in France, dating from the 1950s to 2004. The day will also be an opportunity to discuss the theme "Tomorrow's heritage for a more sustainable future", an essential reflection on the transmission and valorization of our history. And to complete the experience, let yourself be tempted by a delicious Flammekueche (tarte flambée) and enjoy a moment of conviviality at the heart of the site.
