Born Innocent in Kigali in 1983 and christened Jean-Paul by a couple of fifty-something lesbians who adopted him a year later, Inno JP has a story that would be impossible to invent.

In True Story, he recounts his childhood in a very monochrome environment, when he was his ‘only black friend’, his pathological tendency to be late (which does nothing to dispel clichés) and why his backside now resembles an Indian city.

Thanks to his rare writing talent and rhythmic ease, Inno JP won over the audience at the first edition of ‘Découv'rire’. With his irresistible humour that debunks statues, he continues his quest to deconstruct our unfortunate neo-colonialist reflexes, with an air of nonchalance.
