Show for young audiences: Des larmes d'eau douce

A child, Sofia, cries fresh tears in a country suffering from drought. She saves her village from drought for a time, before the village elders realise the financial benefits of her tears.

In this subtle adaptation of the play by the famous Mexican playwright Jaime Chabaud, the three protagonists (an actress, a puppeteer and a musician) bring this modern tale combining poetry and politics to life.

Set against a backdrop of plant matter, the fable intertwines theatre, puppets and shadows with a soundtrack composed of natural and electro-acoustic sounds. With this creation, Alain Batis and La Mandarine Blanche weave a show that is characteristic of their elegant and refined universe.
