The last play written by Molière, Le malade imaginaire is a virulent critique of the official medicine of his time. It depicts the madness of Argan, a rich bourgeois hypochondriac who wants to marry his eldest daughter, Angélique, to a young doctor, the son of a doctor and nephew of the doctor who treats him every day. This critique of 17th-century medicine raises the ever burning question of blind faith in science. The play also tackles (as Molière often did) the issue of forced marriage. But above all, it's a comedy that will give you a good time with its caricatured characters.
