To mark European Heritage Days, the Friends of the Museum of the Battle of 6 August 1870 are offering two days of activities.
On Saturday, enjoy a moment of emotion and remembrance through the reading of authentic letters written by soldiers in 1870. Immerse yourself in history through their words, hopes and fears, for a unique insight into the daily lives of the combatants.
On Sunday, Patrick Serre will give a free lecture on the ‘Turcos in 1870’, the soldiers from North Africa who fought in the 1870 war. This fascinating talk will give you a better understanding of their role, their commitment and the memory that is dedicated to them.
