Reserve naturelle de l'île du Rohrschollen
Route du Rohrschollen, 67000 Strasbourg
The National Nature Reserve of Rohrschollen Island was founded in 1997 and is a green bower just a few kilometres from Strasbourg. A number of different species are found here: the black poplar, white willow, sycamore maple, woodpeckers, birds of prey, amphibians, reptiles and countless insects. The Reserv is open to the public and every year 160,000 visitors follow the many themed trails, such as the greylag goose trail and the gallery forest trail. There are 2 viewing points on the German shore from which you can observe the island’s biodiversity. Free guided tours are organised throughout the year.
