The park was named Albert Schweitzer in homage to the great doctor known for his work in Lambaréné (Gabon). The park as it exists today is a portion of the former Gruber estate (former brewer) whose villa remains to the north of the park. It has a magnificent arboretum whose trees were planted when the villa was built.The park can be accessed from the CREPS or at public access times via Rue du Schnokeloch.
