Stag bellowing evening

The end of September marks the start of the stag mating season. The bellowing resounds in the valley, sometimes shrouded in mist, at nightfall or in the early hours of the morning. The low, hoarse sound is picked up by other stags and grows louder.

Witness this magical moment at the Ferme d'Argentin. Sit back and listen. Perhaps you can hear them? Perhaps you can see the silhouettes taking shape in the semi-darkness? The guides will take the opportunity to give you some information about this magnificent wild animal that inhabits our forests and easily approaches farms.

After listening to and perhaps observing the deer, the Ferme d'Argentin will offer you a vegetable soup, accompanied by a sausage, followed by a slice of fruit tart, for a convivial evening that may still be punctuated by the bellowing.

Beware, the stag is a wild animal. La Ferme d'Argentin cannot guarantee that it will be heard that evening. It will be a matter of luck, but at this time of year, the bellowing is frequently heard.

Bring a torch or headlamp, warm clothing to withstand the evening chill and a blanket to sit on or cover up.
