"Tastes united in baroque Europe". In the course of a concert, the four musicians of the "Masque" baroque music ensemble, Marta Kratochvilova on traverso, Marc Hervieux on recorder, Kevin Bourdat on viola da gamba and Parsival Castro on theorbo will, together or as soloists, present us with works from the main musical currents of this rich and audacious Europe. In fact, in the 18th century, musical styles were rather linked to countries and their specificities. Wherever you were, you did not play in the same way. In Italy, France, England or Germany, musicians had different aesthetics due to the historical, religious or cultural context. This programme will illustrate these different tastes, moods and characters. There will be majestic, but suggestive French music with Trios by Marin Marais and Hotteterre. Italian music with a trio sonata by Sammartini, expressive in the slow movements and extrovert and virtuoso in the fast ones. And finally, German music with sonatas by Georg Philipp Telemann, a composer who succeeded in drawing inspiration from and creating a synthesis of different styles, French and Italian, and approaching, like François Couperin, George Friedrich Haendel or Henry Purcell, the "Goûts réunis".
