Ultra-Trail des Chevaliers

Présentation

The route, which links the 2 Alsatian départements, is on a par with the legendary 100-mile distance. The start will be on Friday in Colmar, the prefecture of the Haut-Rhin, where you can admire the Little Venice district before setting off towards the Vosges mountains and its castles, the first of which you will visit being Hohlandsbourg. On the first part of the route, you will pass through the tourist towns of Turckheim and Kaysersberg before resuming your visit to the châteaux via the Finkenhoehe, the highest point of the route. You will then rejoin the 100K route and switch to the Bas-Rhin département just before entering the grounds of Haut-Koenigsbourg castle. Halfway through the race, the landscape will give way to vineyards and Alsatian villages from Châtenois to Barr, where you will take the 50K route before climbing to Mont Sainte-Odile. A final difficulty awaits you at the summit of the Heidenkopf before plunging down towards Obernai, turning you into knights as you cross the finishing line on the ramparts. The route passes through Haut-Koenigsbourg and Châtenois on Saturday between 09:50am and 11:15am.
