Wine production has been a tradition in Alsace for thousands of years. There are seven Alsace appellation grape varieties (Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Muscat d'Alsace, Pinot Gris, Gewurztramminer and Pinot Noir). The battlements of Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle overlook the slopes of Praelatenberg, located at an altitude of between 250 and 350 metres. The vineyards cover 18.70 hectares and the Riesling, Gewurtzraminer, Muscat and Tokay Pinot Gris develop to perfection here. The first records date back to 823 AD, when Praelatenberg belonged to the prelates of Ebersmunster Abbey. Worked over the last century by wine growers from Sélestat, it now belongs to the wine growers of Orschwiller and Kintzheim. * Drink responsibly.
