Ortenbourg and Ramstein Trail - from the Taennelkreuz chapel

From Scherwiller, drive towards Châtenois on the D35 (wine road). After the drugstore, after about 200m, take the rue de Dieffenthal on your right and then, after about 100m, the rue du Taennelkreuz on your left. Continue straight on this street until you come to the chapel. A few parking spaces are available for your car. Before or after the hike, do not hesitate to visit the chapel.

This hike will take you through the Ortenbourg massif, which has been the subject of a biotope protection decree for its remarkable fauna and flora. You will take the path which goes up towards the forest and which skirts the vineyards (path marked out blue cross) and will leave to the discovery of the castles of Ramstein and Ortenbourg.
The Ramstein is in the process of being consolidated and is closed to visitors.
