To understand Solène Léglise's works, you have to listen carefully and take your time, like Elijah on Mount Horeb waiting for God to speak to him (1 Kings 17:1-24)! First you have to walk, follow an itinerary and listen to the Word of God. Nothing is impossible for God, but he rarely speaks to people in a hurry. "You have to speak loudly for people to hear you. You have to speak low to be heard", said Claudel. God speaks low. Discretion is the mark of his word. To listen to him, you have to bend your ear. Listening is not easy. Why should we be surprised if we can't hear God, when we're so bad at listening to our neighbours?

Solène Léglise creates mosaics like journeys or discoveries where silence and music mingle. We don't know which begins with silence and which with music. Each mosaic is perceived as a micro-trip, requiring a precise, creative and attentive approach. Soft, poetic tones are his trademark, encouraging observation and contemplation. "With short strides, I pick up the debris at my feet. To create with what is there under my hand, presences within me, the emergence of earthly remains, samples of buried traces. Appearances without noise or crash, accompanying my steps," explains the artist.
