Classical concert

Although rarely performed in concert, the Ode "L'Allegro, Il Penseroso ed il Moderato", a kind of secular oratorio, can be considered one of Handel's finest works, as much for its poetry as for the quality and inventiveness of its music.

The Atelier de Musique Ancienne of the Conservatoire and the Académie Supérieure de Musique / Strasbourg regularly performs ambitious works such as Les Indes Galantes, the R. Keiser/J.S. Bach St Mark Passion, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater and concertos for various instruments. The singers and instrumentalists here all come from the Conservatoire and HEAR singing classes. The work presented here will be shortened by a third and adapted to the students' training - as Handel did for each performance.
